Human Design Progressed Charts: Why You No Longer Feel Like Your Human Design Chart

Most people know that your Astrology chart evolves over time.

But did you know your Human Design chart does too?

Just like Astrology has Secondary Progressions, Human Design has what many people refer to as a Progressed Human Design Chart.

And understanding it can explain why certain themes, gifts, challenges, emotions, or personality traits seem to become stronger as you move through life.

Wait... I Thought Human Design Never Changes?

Your natal Human Design chart never changes.

Your Type, Strategy, Authority, Profile, Centers, Gates, and Channels remain the foundation of who you are.

But just like Astrology, there are timing techniques that show what is being emphasized during different chapters of your life.

This is where the Human Design Progressed Chart comes in.

A Real-Life Example

Recently, I was reflecting on the chart of someone close to me.

They have a very distinct emotional moodiness that shows up in how they communicate.

Sometimes they're incredibly social and expressive.

Other times, it's obvious they need space and don't want to interact.

Immediately, I thought of the 12-22 Channel in Human Design.

This channel is known for emotional waves, moodiness, and speaking only when they're "in the mood."

The interesting part?

They don't actually have the 12-22 Channel in their natal Human Design chart.

So I looked at their Progressed Human Design Chart.

Sure enough, it was there.

And not only was it there, it was the only defined channel in the entire progressed chart.

Suddenly, everything made sense.

Why This Matters

Your progressed chart can help explain:

  • Why you've changed over time

  • Why certain gifts feel stronger now

  • Why new themes seem to emerge in your life

  • Why certain relationships feel different than they once did

  • Why you're being asked to develop parts of yourself that weren't obvious before

It's not replacing your natal chart.

It's adding another layer of understanding.

Human Design vs Astrology

One of the ways I explain this is:

Astrology tells the story of your life.

Human Design tells you who you are inside the story.

Astrology helps us understand timing.

Human Design helps us understand how our energy works, how we're designed to make decisions, and how we're meant to move through the world.

A progressed Human Design chart sits somewhere between those two worlds.

It shows how your Human Design themes unfold and develop throughout different chapters of life.

The Goal Isn't To Become Your Progressed Chart

Just like in Astrology, the goal isn't to abandon your natal chart.

Your natal chart remains the foundation.

The progressed chart simply highlights what is currently asking for your attention, development, and awareness.

Think of it as a spotlight rather than a replacement.

Where to Find Your Human Design Progressed Chart

The only place I currently know of to pull up this chart for yourself, is from Genetic Matrix.

You will need to have their membership to see this advanced feature.

Once you are on your chart page, look for the dropdown that says “Foundation & Transit"

Change it to “AstroHD Progressions”

Your Human Design Progressed chart will be shown on the right side (it says Secondary Progression—a different name for the same thing).

And voilà ! It will also show you your progressed chart on top of your natal bodygraph.
