Outlander Astrology :: the Synastry of Claire and Jamie Fraser

admittedly, i’ve been binging on the Netflix lately

i’ve watched allll the shows about magic, fairies, etc. etc.

or so i thought

until, when i was visiting my family, my little brother told me about this show called Outlander

i watched an episode

and became obsessed

i freaking LOVE THIS SHOW

and quickly became obsessed as well, with Jamie Fraser

he’s so cute and SO sweet

as well as Claire

i mean, she’s a badass.

is she not?

if you haven’t seen it, it’s about a woman that finds herself traveling back 200 years in the past, accidentally

naturally, the whole time i’m watching this show i’m just yearning for their birthdays to be revealed

Claire’s came first

i believe in the episode where she tells Jamie that she’s from the future, or soon after

and then, in Season 5, i FINALLY captured Jamie’s birthday

it’s funny how this show made its way into my life because i have been wanting to read the books for as long as i can remember

and just never got around to it

anyways, let’s get to the good part

Jamie Fraser’s birth chart

as a Taurus myself, i was SUPER stoked to have my suspicions confirmed in Jamie’s chart

his Taurus sun, Scorpio rising, and Cancer moon is SO fitting

if i HAD to pick a fucking amazing big 3, this would probably be it

he’s head-strong, opinionated, and steadfast while also compassionate and loving

he’s a man of his WORD and is loyal to his bones

his Scorpio rising definitely explains his sexiness

and intense passion for those he loves

his chart ruler, Mars in Pisces (in the 5th house), also contributes to that passionate loving nature

his Mercury in Aries (and Rx) explains his tendency to quick anger

Venus in Gemini explains his quick wit and way with words

Cancer moon lends him to being extremely, HELLA intuitive, loving, and family oriented

family is literally everything to this man

and it shows

the birth chart don’t liiieeee

let’s move on to Claire

i wasn’t surprised to learn that she’s an Aquarius rising, Libra sun, and Taurus moon

also a pretty amazing combo

she’s highly intelligent (Aqua rising) and always seems to be in the future (even in the past)

philosophical, inquisitive, and charming and graceful (Libra sun in the 9th house)

moon in Taurus in the 4th house, she is also just as strong-willed, steadfast, and opinionated as Jamie

this lends them to be a GREAT match

which I’ll get too soon :)

with her Mars in Sag she had to ALWAYS speak the truth, even if it is sometimes to her detriment

especially since it’s RIGHT on her North Node

and yeah we all know she loves travel 😆

her chart ruler is Saturn in Leo (in the 7th house), lending to her tendencies of pridefulness, yet always loving and thoughtful of others

and you know the way she always seems to know the right thing to say?

that’s her Mercury and Venus in Libra

now let’s get to the REAL juicy part

the Synastry of Jamie and Claire

this first synastry chart shows Jamie’s chart on the outside and Claire’s on the inside

the first thing that stood out to me about their charts is Claire’s moon conjunct Jamie’s sun in her 4th house

the moon being one’s Soul, it’s no wonder why Jamie feels like home to her

which i’m pretty sure she has said as much, many times

AND why they ended up owning land and property together

the other important houses i look at when doing synastry is the 5th, 7th and 8th

Jamie’s Venus is in her 5th house, the same sign as Claire’s south node

his love feels very familiar to her, and ignites romance, joy, and passion in both of them

BUT because his Uranus is on her Venus, their love goes through loootts of sudden and unexpected changes (and in her 9th house of long distance travel…. do i even need to explain this one any further?)

at this point in my brief interpretation, i’m starting to wonder if Diana Gabaldon planned it this way…

i mean it’s just SO perfect

Claire has Saturn in the same sign as Jamie’s Midheaven, in her 7th house

which, to me, explains the 2 marriages

and great devotional love for both of them

as a Libra too, her relationships and close connections with others are very important to her

with Jamie’s Pluto in Claire’s 8th house, it makes sense to me why their intimacy is so intense, deep, and passionate

as well as why they never choose to keep secrets from each other for very long

although, i am hesitant to include the outer planets as most of them weren’t even known of back then

but, i digress

let’s now look at how Claire’s chart affects Jamie’s

obviously the aspects of their placements are going to be the same with reversing the charts

the one thing that changes is whose Houses we’re looking at

and the biggest thing that stands out to me is their Sun/Moon conjunction in Jamie’s 7th house

it’s no wonder he knew he wanted to marry her from the moment they met

and similar to Claire, because of the placements he has here, his close relationships are very important to him

i could analyze their charts forever… but i feel i have covered the main parts
